For the longest time, I've had a very complicated relationship with my own existence and the experience of being alive. As an adult now, I keep questioning why I must constantly try to heal from wounds that were never caused by me. I continue to carry the pain, the rage, the shame, the confusion, the disgust, and the nightmares, while for them, it was just another regular day.
This series of paintings explores the conversations I have with myself in an effort to befriend the experience of being alive and my idealisation of the time when I can finally stop battling myself.
