ISEA (International Symposium on Electronic Art) is an international non-profit organisation fostering interdisciplinary academic discourse and exchange among culturally diverse organisations and individuals working with art, science and technology.
For ISEA2023, I worked under the art direction of Clément Thibault from Le Cube Garges where I was honored the responsibility to make a ISEA2023's Instagram filter. The theme for ISEA2023 was Symbiosis, and I wanted to capture the relationship between human, art, and technology through the filter.
In the first proposal, I played around with the idea of interdependence and hybridisation as a respond to the theme.
A filter that only becomes fully complete when being used together with other users.
This filter only let the flower grow when the user is opening their hand, creating a symbiosis between the flower and the user through technology.

The art director wanted me to push the visuals more and focus on hybridisation, here is the final look of the filter that is then approved and launched for ISEA2023 in Paris.
I still really liked the idea of exploring a symbiosis between the user and the filter, that is why I decided to make the filter grows the longer the user interacts with it. I want it to grow more beautifully, but will reach a point that corrupts the growth and turned it into something more polluted. Thus questioning the relationship between human and technology.
