A short experimental video that explores the question if we ever able to escape the constant surveillance of our digital footprints.
All the shots in this film is taken from my laptop's webcam. I put it all around the house and started recording to visualise what the webcam is seeing. I realised that I took my laptop almost everywhere in the house, and made me wonder how much it has been watching my personal life. In the film, I will occasionally put up a mirror in front of the camera to challenge its view. What if it sees itself, I wondered. But as I was doing it, I realised that I was actually exposing more of myself and my surrounding by using the mirror. I needed to hide myself better for the mirror and the webcam not to see me. Can I really escape its constant watch?
